Dear Friend

Have you ever had that moment when you're getting ready for a party - that you really want to go to - but nothing looks good on you?

That was me.

Except it wasn't just clothes.

It was everything.

It was late September. I was living in West Belfast. I had just gone through a horrible break-up. I was cold all the time. Nothing made sense. Nothing was working in my life.

Whatever my plan was… it wasn’t working.

Basically I was lost.

Not the kind of lost you feel sometimes on a Monday morning when you don't want to go to work.

I mean really lost.

Like something was broken.

And tbh I was more than a little worried that I was the thing that was broken.

But worse, I felt like God wasn't with me anymore, like I was all on my own, and that was kind of scary.

So because I’m a good practical Irish woman I started looking for a way to fix it.

And I said a little prayer, to find my luck again.

To find my way back.

What happened next really surprised me.

I got a message - completely out of the blue - from a publisher I had worked for previously to ask would I like to be part of a thing where every day I say a little prayer - a new one every day - then write about it.

Just to see what would happen.

No big church, no religion, no hype, just a little experiment to see if prayer still works these days, and what happens if it does, on a personal level.

I think I said yes because it was so low key and honestly I wasn't expecting anything much to happen.

But weirdly, as soon as I started doing it, things started to fall into place, almost immediately.

I felt better, and things just started to "work out".

Along the way I moved to a little town in Spain called Cadaqués, where I eat oranges, flirt with beautiful Spanish boys, breathe in the sunshine and rain, and write a little daily email about one little prayer each day - a new one every day - just to see what happens next.

I pinch myself somedays that it is all real.

That this adventure is my life now.

And if you’d like to join in, then this is that story - it’s happening right now - and I would love it if you shared it with me.

You can subscribe here, right now - 100% free - and come along for the ride with me if you like.

I like to think it will work for you too.

Love,

Lux

P.S. Each day I write a little daily email about one little prayer each day - a new one every day - just to see what happens next.

When people talk to me about it they say it is nice to be able to say a prayer with someone, and that it feels like we are doing them together.

I like that.

I also have this funny feeling that saying them together somehow makes them big.

FAQ's

Is this part of a church or religious group?
It's 100% all me. Just a little project to see what happens if you say a little prayer each day for a year. I grew up Catholic so that is my background, and each day I do ask a Catholic Saint to deliver the prayer to God (long story, I explain inside), but you can be anything you want and still follow along.

Do you offer any guarantees?

This is my project and I am doing it just for fun. If you want to join in I would love to have you along for the ride.

Will this work for me?

Life is short and in my experience there are lots of things to try. I like this and that is why I am doing it. Maybe try it and see for yourself. If you think it's bonkers then at least you will have tried it, and of course you can easily unsubscribe anytime.

But what if it works?

I know right. That is the question I asked myself. What if just saying one little prayer from the heart each day- 100% free - actually works.

And what if saying them together makes them even bigger.

What if it really, really, really works.

That could be good.
